"You shall have no other gods before me" is not an option, but a Commandment.
I stumbled across chapters 8 to 10 of the Book of Ezekiel that contains an impressing description of the glory of Hashem and also of the chastisement of all idolaters.
Before I going with you through the chapters of Ezechiel, I would like to share with you the words I received from our Lord. They do contain a last warning to mankind.
"My daughter, most people seem to have forgotten how much Israel has been punished over the Centuries for the idolatric practices they have borrowed from the nations.
The nations that accessed Salvation have always taken these episodes of correction as an example not to run after other gods. Some of them thought that my wrath upon Israel was permanent...now the same nations are swollen with pride and their idolatry has taken huge proportions.
I am not only talking about what is obvious; besides graven images and objects made of wood or stone, there are more insidious idols that I want removed before I destroy them all, one after the others. I want to warn the nations that they are on the edge of destruction.
I will spare the ones who serve me with a pure heart, but there will be no mercy for the idolaters.
I have been sending warnings to nations; my patience is coming to an end.
Return to the Living God instead of placing your trust in men. Your Lord has spoken, it is time for Teshuva."
We all need to examine our behaviors, and that's daily. We must check our heart's motives and repent when we did wrong.
What is an idol? An idol is anything that is placed before our Lord in terms of importance.
Our Lord MUST come first. This is a healthy rule to follow if we want to be found faithful on the very day of His Return. May your hearts filled with faithfulness towards Him.
Ezekiel, a prophet of vision
Ezekiel is the son of Buzi, a priest in Jerusalem. Since the beginning of his mission, He is approached very closely by Hashem. His descriptions of the glory of Hashem are impressing.
Hashem's hand literally "fell upon him". A very detailed description of the prophet's vision will follow. The last verses speak of the glory of Hashem within the cloud:
"And above the expanse over their heads there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like shapphire; and seated above the likeness of a throne was the likeness with a human appearance. And upward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were gleaming metal, like the appearance of fire enclosed all around. And downward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as if it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him. Like the appearance of a bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of brightness all around.
Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking."
Hashem is a jealous God
In Ezechiel, chapter 8, the prophet guides us through Hashem's vision, exposing the great iniquity that Israel is hiding behind four walls. The sanctuary is profanated by abominations. Foreign cults, cults involving reptilians, bowing before the sun...
A lot of people might object that nobody would do such cults today...well honoring Sun-day- if we consider the historical background behind implemeting Sun-day cult- is also bowing before the sun, as far as I am concerned, (No where in Scriptures Sun-day is mentioned as the resting day, but Shabbat. I defy anybody to tell me the contrary and I will prove him wrong, not because I want to be right, but because the Word says so.)
But modern forms of idolatry might be more subtle in their form, yet they are even worst than they used to be. They take many shapes and forms such as money worship, politicians' worship, etc, etc...
Our Lord will not tolerate that you share Him with vain idols whoever or whatever they are.
One must be concious that the Creator of the Universe loves us with a passion that is far beyond our understanding. He wants your hearts- not 20%, not 30%,..our Lord wants a 100% dedication.
Yeshua wants a heart that is free of idolatry, a total committment from His disciples.
The judgment of idolatry
In Ezekiel, chapter 9, Hashem chooses six men from whose hand destruction will come.
Yes, judgment is here and it won't spare old, young, virgins and children among all the evil-doers.
Atheists have boasted arrogantly about the verses of Ezekiel 9:6 without understanding the full meaning of these Scriptures, though.
Of course, our Lord is love. If He is love, why does he destroy some individuals? Why doesn't their free will seem to be respected? God respects anybody's free will, but there is a time when your actions come into judgment. Too many abominations had been committed and needed to be erased.
What happens to rotten fruit? It gets removed so it cannot contaminate the good fruit.
God is love, but God is true judgment. Every evil act mankind commits comes into judgment.
Hashem who is love, also spares the persons who are walking in righteousness: the persons with the mark on their foreheads will be spared the massacre.
My friends, from all the insights I am getting regularly from Yeshua, I want you to acknowledge the accurate message Ezekiel 9 has for our contemporary times.
It will happen to us as in the days of Ezechiel. Hashem will divide people into two groups: the righteous and the evil-doers.
Mankind keeps pushing it very far...our Lord has been very patient, but the hour of His Return is approaching. Please take His warnings seriously. Get saved, give Him your heart, so you'll spent eternity with Him.
The glory of Hashem
Ezekiel10 consists of a detailed description of Hashem's manifestations of glory.
Once the idolaters have been destroyed Hashem appears in majesty with his kerubim.
The description of the cloud of glory , Hashem's voice and all other great manifestations should make us realize the greatness of our Creator. There is none like Him and He gives His glory to no other.
Praise Him, because He is great and greatly to be praised!
